Dear Friends,

I get asked all the time "How can we get involved with THLN at our local level now that we have Chapters throughout the State?" I love this question because it gives me the opportunity to talk to people about all our chapters and the wonderful leadership committees who manage these chapters. Then I get to talk about all the great events, marketing, and legislative support we are getting as a result of our awesome volunteers who are dedicated to our mission.

Want to get involved? Check out one of these events in your area or you can always contact me directly at ed@thln.org -YOUR support is desperately needed if we are going to be successful with issues such as regulating puppy mills in 2011.

South Texas Chapter (Corpus)
Cheryl Martinez and her crew are organizing a 1930's themed gala aboard the USS Lexington in Corpus on the evening of Friday May 7th. Wichita Falls Chapter (Wichita Falls)
Jan Herzog and her committee will be offering a great event for those of you who are interested in receiving vegetarian cooking lessons on Saturday May 8th from 11:00am - 2:00pm at the Women's Forum in Wichita Falls. West Texas Chapter (Midland)
Paul O'Neill and his leadership committee will be hosting the 2nd annual "PAWS ON THE PATIO" in Midland on Saturday May 15th from 11:00am - 2:00pm at Clear Springs Restaurant. Central Texas Chapter (Austin)
Diane Coker and her team are bringing you "WAG THE DOG COCKTAIL PARTY" in Austin on Wednesday May 19th from 5:30pm - 8:30pm at the Belmont's Dakota Lounge located at 305 West 6th Street.
